Hi Joe, did he take off the timing cover to see if the belt was snapped?? If belt was snapped off then maybe you have bent valves. but to know for sure and not by looking at it, he has to do a cylinder leak down test. I did a Honda Accord and the belt snapped off but it did not have bent valves. So lady was lucky. If he changed the belt already and did not put the timing belt right, your valves can bend. You can’t bend that with your hands alone. car will not run right with bent valves.

my timing belt went out and the guy down here is charging 400 for that and the tensioner. then was telling me i had belt valves when he hadn’t looked at it yet.

can you bend the valves with your hand…could he do that to my car to jack up the price.

could a car still run with a bent valve or two?
