2008 Suzuki SX4 Rear Brake Caliper Replacement

2008 Suzuki SX4 Rear Brake Caliper Replacement

In this video, I show how to replace a rear brake caliper on a 2008 Suzuki SX4. Although I say in the opening that I won’t show the brake pads being replaced, in the process of replacing the caliper you also see how the brake pads fit into the system. A lot of brake fluid can drip when the hose is removed from the old caliper, so be ready with a drip-catching container.

I shot this with a Panasonic Lumix GH5 camera and FotoWelt lav microphone, and used a variety of lights including the Sutefoto P80. The video was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.

This happened on my Suzuki swift sport 08 both rear calipers needed replacing with pads , the garage charged me a fortune!! Seems like a Suzuki thing that they suffer from sticking calipers. I'll be doing them myself next time now I've watched your video. Thanks.

Very helpful video, thanks Bob!

Very informative video, same problem occurred on my wifes vehicle except when i noticed it the worn out pads already destroyed the rotor, does the rotor comes off when the caliper is removed or is it fastened somehow?

thanks for the video, btw, you mentioned the caliper was sticking, was the ebrake cable releasing properly? i have a 2011 sx4 but it is a manual so my ebrake gets used, i am surprised you had a problem with yours, these sx4's are quite robust.

Timely, I will be doing the exact same thing to the left rear of my 2009 sx4. I’m waiting for my caliper and pads to arrive from Rock Auto. Thanks
