This is not how you fill the coolant level on your Subaru. That is the overflow tank you need to check and fill the coolant level on the upper reservoir on the intake manifold. The level in your overflow that you just topped up will always change as coolant expands and contracts with heat and pressure. You need to leave room in there for it to fill up when the car gets hot. Never top up your coolant via the coolant overflow. Only the coolant reservoir on the intake manifold

You can always pour it in the oil. That's where it will end up anyway after the head pops.
