Good tip on the loose gas cap. Ahh, that's how they lower the comp. for the turbo double the head gasket thickness. lol Ive changed a couple of them motors because of wrecks not because they were bad.

You took on a pretty big job there but you got it handled Ken. Good idea about running the engine with the heater on.
How long did the job take? I can tell you do very good work. I always appreciate watching someone who pays attention to the small details like myself. I was wondering if you considered just taking the engine out, and doing this job on the bench?
