How To Install a Air/Oil Separator for Subaru WRX & WRX STI! (GrimmSpeed)

The GrimmSpeed™ Air/Oil Separator for Subaru vehicles has a unique patent pending design that allows you to maintain your PCV Valve while separating the oil out of the crankcase and head ventilation air! Our AOS will allow your engine to run more efficiently due to the separation of oil from the intake system. When there is oil in your system, the result is 1) reduced fuel octane 2) higher chance of engine knock(detonation) 3) worse emissions 4) higher oil consumption. Our Air/Oil Separator will help all of these problems. Thank you to Grimmspeed for providing the parts for the #throtlwrx!

Front mount prevent issues with heat soak in warmer climates where temps reach high 90s or more

SwTJoEPiNoY408 says:

Would you recommend this for a 2013 Subaru Impreza Premium Sedan?

Luis Zarate says:

I think you installed the hoses wrong. The one in the middle goes to the hose connected to the intake manifold. The other two on sides go to the hoses that come from the valve covers. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Casey Pate says:

I havent ran a catch can/AOS on my ej207 swapped wrx and have one main concern mainly on the ej20s: oil contamination. In my experience these engines are very picky with whats goin on with oiling and like to have oil starvation like failures. Has any one done a UOA while running an AOS? I dont burn any oil in 4k OCIs with T6 so i haven't been too worried about blow by and all that but now at 360awhp i dont like the idea of knock knock jokes from cylinder 4

ERees says:

thats junk. VTA all the way mutha fucka.

trex4586 says:

You connected the first hose you cut for the AOS wrong, it was supposed to connect to the center of the AOS not the left side

John Nickel says:

IC will be fine to change under CARB so long as the car came with an IC from the factory.

John Nickel says:

So essentially this is an oil catch can?

Kevin Walsh says:

Keep the top mount unless you plan on making 600+ or switch to an STI top mount.

Aprisonerofslaveearth says:

So to add oil you need a 19 mm socket and ratchet to open ?

Free Time says:

Oversized top mount to stay carb compliant. Front mount won’t pass visual unfortunately

David Garcia says:

Zack Rappleye says:

dope boyz says:

Eric Varela says:

Front mount would be awsome I have always been a big fan of the front mount intercooler but in order to pass the inspection part of the smog check it has to have a Executive Order (EO) number on it that has to be verified by the smog check . But! I I found one kit that is CARB complient made by Mishimoto for a little over a grand and it's EO #D-759 heck yeah go for it…here is a link where you can find out about the EO# https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/aftermkt.htm
