Scotty, I work in production control at the Indiana Subaru plant. The quality difference between our vehicles and the Japan built vehicles is negligible. All design is performed at the parent company. Approximately 20% of the parts are sourced thru Japan and 75% are sourced thru US supplies with Japanese parent companies. You are correct, the Forester is only built in Japan, but the Indiana built cars are of comparable quality.
What buy a Subaru are you stupid the hard to work on they did that made things so stupid in them let's take the automatic transmissions whether it's the traditional automatic or CVT it will suck and it will break in less than 50,000 miles guaranteed trying to go the way they say you blow it up Subaru were junk they're not Toyotas and Hondas don't be stupid
I don't buy Subaru for economy, I buy for how well the awd system works keeping the car planted and the power available from the turbocharger models for safer overtaking.
Ironically the 2.0 turbo engines have good economy, 2.5 turbo engines hardly have lag and are impossible to get decent fuel economy!

My friend bought a 2019 wrx. Spun a bearing after a couple thousand miles. Come to findout there is a class action lawsuit against Subaru for this problem. Subaru bought him a new engine. I've also heard they've had these issues since 2012. Is it true?
