Fel-pro dont make them for the 2.2l. I've bought the one from fel-pro and from subaru, and they both have the composite on them.

@peterwright4467 says:

Good advice, Subaru head gaskets suck, Fel-Pro and six star are better options. Take a look at Charlie Sago Subaru Forester rebuild on YouTube

@RichardAmuir-f2l says:

Dude
Don't install new head bolt unless there OEM Subaru bolts
I've done over a hundred subaru head gasket jobs with Felpro MLS gasket and re using the head bolts.
My own car has over 140000km with these gaskets and the old head bolts.
I offer a 100,000km warranty ( conditional ) on head jobs.
Felpro all the way.

The Blue Fel Pro will fail … Total waste of money ! Have to used the Turbo OE Gasket

@liketofixit-ei5uz says:

approximately 1996-2012/2014. EJ engines, naturally aspirated, non-turbo, had the gasket issue. they were a single layer, graphite coated gasket that failed. if you got to Subaru to buy new gaskets, it's still the old single layer graphite coated gasket. the turbos of that era had a mutli-layer head gasket.

I can't get to your site. Would you mind sending me a link to purchase the Felpro MLS Headgaskets for the price you mentioned. Thank you.

@MikeStavola says:

just pulled a pair of the Fel Pro gaskets out of my EJ25, and they failed in the exact way the OEM coated head gaskets failed. The blue coating came off. I'm having the heads milled (they now have grooves from the fire rings) and going with a set of Subaru turbo MLS gaskets.
Hopefully these last for more than 5 years/25k miles.

@jeffreyheinzelmanjr3317 says:

Can i ask why you would recommend the fel-pro? When all you have to do is use the turbo gaskets in pkace of the non turbo. The ej turbo gaskets had no issues. I always use the turbo gaskets not any other.

@jmowens69 says:

I realize this video is old but if you are viewing this do NOT use felpro mls gasket, the coating on them fails. Use only subaru oem updated mls headgasket and have your heads milled. I have done well over 50 ej25 head gasket jobs. Trust me

@ilostmywind says:

I just bought a 2003 Baja with bad head gaskets. To fix, I bought turbo head gaskets MLS from 2006 part number 11044AA642. Are these turbo gaskets going to be a permanent fix from your experience? Thank you.

@liamc666 says:

Subaru head bolts are reusable. Save yourself £50
