quick response, so is it the japanese market that has the BC and BF for these models? and yea, Liberty in Aus ONLY not even NZ has it, they have Legacys. its confusing looking it up, as we have 2 models yet you have 3… mine is a (built in 91) 92 model, but according to some sites, it has some features of the 93 model.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

1) I don’t know. The dirty air filter is the one that came with the car. I put the new one in at around my second week of ownership. I assume it was pretty old. 2) Yes, I’m in the US, where it’s called a Legacy. I understand that the Liberty name is unique to the Australian version, but I may be wrong. 3) Yes, L, LS, LSi, and Outback. Specifically, mine’s badged as a Legacy L Outback.

that was horrible dirty! how longs it been in? i had 1 in for 2 years (6 months of the time it wasnt registered, and id been out in the dirt a bit havin fun, and it wasnt half as dirty. but now i have a pod filter in my Liberty?Legacy, also i thought in america (im assuming thats where you are, im wrong arent i?) that the legacy models were like “BC” and “BF” mines a Liberty LX and then theres the GX. where you have the L LS or LSi right?

I’m browsing your videos, so forgive me if you already covered this: is there a video of you replacing the A/C unit? Our JUST went out, and I’m browsing around for DIY videos and I really like yours 🙂

I have the same model year of subaru legacy, but it’s just the L model…does it even have cabin air filters?? Trying to learn everything about my car but it’s hard when I don’t have much to go on…

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Worked like a charm. The car drives amazing now. Just a few more items to take care of, and then I’m back to the diesel project.

Michael Sackstein says:

How’s the transmission did the speed sensor do the trick?

MercedesDieselGuy says:

It’s attached to the top of the airbox.

Michael Sackstein says:

Is the mass air flow sensor on the air box there or the engine?

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Thanks. Rust is unavoidable around here. We just try to limit the amount.

Parvez Ahmed says:

ohh okk got it now. thats the reason i was wondering why all ur cars rusty. i also buy used cars. cant afford a new one but normally in here, when we look for used cars if we find any rust we dont even go any further. first thing is to check rust. the place i live temp doesnt go bellow 5. i always wanted to own a subaru but cant find one less than 5K and those are with high K’s. thats the reason i asked you the price. anyway hope to see many repair videos on ur new car. good luck

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I’m not sure where you’re from, but pretty much all the used cars around where I live are rusty – especially the ones I can afford – due to winter road salt. This one actually isn’t bad by local standards. Purchase price was in line with local market standards. Not a bargain, but not a bad deal. Was priced fairly based on condition – that’s all I’ll say.

Parvez Ahmed says:

good video. btw..where do u get all the rusty cars lol. how much did you buy this one for?

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Not a bad idea. I might do that just for a piece of mind.

Michael Sackstein says:

You might wanna clean the mass air flow sensor while you’re in there. If that gets dirty it can cause a hesitation at stop & go
