Sadly, my 2003 model has a door that makes the regulator completely inaccessible this way. Nevertheless, this gives me some good clues, plus I've removed the skin of the door and there seems to be some level of access that way.

03:56 – Hmmmm…where's the video explaining the shorting to 18VDC trick? I like the idea, but…uh…tutorial? 🙂 Great video and helpful otherwise!

Thanks for the video. My d/s button fried. Ordered a new switch and immediately smoked and fried it when I plugged it in. I guess I have a hot ground somewhere. Thinking if I replace the motor it might fix the issue. Can I take the motor out without taking out the regulator or are those bolt heads on the inside.

Robert Cipriani says:

Nice video. I was replacing the glass and dropped the two washers inside the door, wasn't sure where they went!

The grease got me when I did it. Got me good.

Hmm its not the same as the others, more like the older type.
Compacted nicer than the cable types 😀

You could tap into you battery pack for a lower voltage, might be nicer for alignment of the holes in some of the types you remove, a bit slower.
