There are 2 different kind of blades, depending on a year. one has a groove in the middle and is a bit wider, one without. Also, those chinese copies, there are few of them. Some of them are completely plastic, on that blade too, so the won't desintegrate, only the color on those 4 button icons will go away. Then there are also rubber shit keys that will desintegrate even much faster than the original key. But as you can see, those chinese keys, either version, do not line up properly when the electronics and battery is inserted. So make sure you watch it, so it won't get apart and you'd lose that electronic part.
There is also original key fob available without blade and without electronics, for far cheaper than whole key. And also whole electronic-equipped key (fob) does not costs hundreds of dollars as you said.
