Thanx for this video but maybe next time you can mute the sound and then talk over a recorded video. The sounds made during this are very annoying. 😉 ha ha
Good technique. The only thing I did differently is that I didn't clip the part of the Jalousie but rather made a cut in it. This way it still can be installed easily but doesn't show the gap from the clipped away piece.
Be very careful pulling the trim bezel off. The outer rubber part of the trim bezel can be easily separated from the hard plastic part that snaps into the console. As careful as I was being when removing the trim bezel, I separated the rubber from the plastic. I now get to buy a new trim bezel piece to the tune of $45. Pay very close attention to what you are doing.
Thanks this really helped man! Unfortunately doing this made me realize that piece of wood trim surrounding that area is deteriorating now to find one of them- also if I had that green film on mine that means there was lights in there- if mine don't light up what would you check first?
You know me, im a saab expert & you can replace that quicker by using a big hammer & duct tape & in a pinch some silicone is allowed, in extreme case a stick of dynamite is needed. Lol. Hey this is what i used building limos for 35+ years. Tried & true brother.

I have a 2008 9-5 2.3T. Is the green ribbon on the 2006-2009 9-5's? My shift panel shows white.

How much harder would it be to remove the shifter?

Great fix – I've done this many times with absolutely no issues and great results! Thx for posting.
