SAAB 9-5 rear-end sag repair

The SAAB 9-5 rear end springs notoriously sag over time.. when those springs sag the rear tires have too much camber and the inside of the tires wear out prematurely. This is a quick fix that any SAAB enthusiast can do. If you can change a shock, you can do do this mod.

Great video. Only one I could find showing the same suspension set up I have on my 2004 aero.

In my opinion, if you are going to spend the time taking your car's suspension apart why not do it right, and put new springs in?

On my 2008 9-5 Aero I installed new Abbott springs(not much lower than stock height), the new KONI FSD shock absorbers with "Special Active technology", and new bump stops. Also new springs and KONI FSD struts up front too. The ride is heavenly, and handling is amazing with that combination. Do it right, replace those junky parts!

Fkd shocks make the suspension sag also. Just like in my 07 95 aero right now. Rear end sagging, both shocks empty. Guess what I'm buying tomorrow. New shocks. Same springs.

Ruined the look. Way too high now. The negative camber is caused by control arm worn bushings and springs. Replace them to do the job right.

Any update? How are they holding up?

SCREW IT! says:

I would check the rear control arm bushings first…

John's page says:

Shim height clarification. I had the shim cut at 3/4".. after the cut was done, the OAL was about 5/8". The rise at the rear wheel was 3/4" after installation, making the total distance from the bottom of the rim to the fender was 23-3/4" after all was said and done.
