I had to change the electric in-tank fuel pump on my Saab 9-5, so I decided to record some video of the process. Something a bit different from my usual videos. Had to take a break from the boat rebuild to get my car going!
This was done on a 2001 9-5, but the process is the same on all years up to (and including) 2005 with a 2.3L engine. Later models don’t have the under-seat access panel – something likely omitted due to GM cost cutting.
In this video I discuss how to deal with a broken retainer clip for the fuel line – a common problem on the older 9-5 fuel pump housings.
I also mention how I changed the fuel line check valve earlier on the same car – based on an idea I saw on an online forum somewhere.

Stupid 2006 three 2009 models makes you drop the tank due to a different size diameter hole. So stupid.

Instead of using the caulking gun can you apply a little heat from a hair dryer to soften the rubber a little more?

Why did you take it apart? Why didn't you have a new one or buy a new one. This video confused me. I was like why are you taking apart the old pump?? Get a new one and drop it in
