If my trim is degraded, will this eventually cause a water leak in the rain or is this just decorative?

wirsindheldenowns says:

OMG thank you!!! I have the same prob, so lucky to find a video like this especially this car is so rare!

HE96 says:

Can you do one for the front as well? Mine is cracking on the front and rears. Even the Cowling cover is degrading

Cyclone Cyd says:

Funny, but my 2007 Aero Anniversary comes with the black trim anyway. I've been wanting to take it off so this has been very useful.
BTW: my Saab stars in a few of my videos too.

marc count says:

By the way, do you have video showing how to change the Gear Shift Knob for 2006 9-3 ?? As I can only find for 1 or 2 video for year 2000 or 2001over YouTube… Thanks !

marc count says:

Man, you've done a great job to keep your Saab looks very original ! For me, I will just take the stainless steel trim out, spray it with BLACK paint…..Save $90- and keep original look too ! !

David Carvalho says:

90$ ??? I went to a car glass replacement company and they removed the metal frame and replaced it with some specific weather strip, both on the front and rear window some years ago. It is still perfect. Paid 5€.

very nice video. Any Saab videos are greatly appreciated. I know that suspension replacement and brake maintenance would be popular for 2.8 owners 😀

FYI – a user named D*rlene R*y (*=a) has also put out this video as their own.

Tommy Wang says:

hi do I need to put any silicon ? thx.

Excellent video. I am going perform this replacement on my 2003 Saab 9-3 as the rear window trim is flaking off all over the place. I was worried the rear window would leak; glad to know this is just cosmetic. By chance do you know how to perform the replacement of the upper windshield trim piece? Looks like the side windshield trim pieces might have to come off but I cannot figure out how to get them off. Searched for advice / videos on doing this but came up empty. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Steven Garrow says:

Thanks for the Video! I have a 2006 Saab Aero that I took down to Florida w/ me and the sun dried that window trim right up and it all flaked off. Seems like it is an easy fix

Kobe Wild says:

wow.. nice to see this… my 2008 saab 93 rear window has the same issue..
good to see it's easy to fix..

jcovercash says:

Do you know if the front decor strip at the top is the same process? I ne3d to replace it on mine and can't find a guide. it looks like the side pieces need to come off first but I can't see how they are removed.

This video was very helpful to me however, Thanks!

I'm Fine says:
