SAAB 9-3 ABS module repair Fixed DTC U0212

SAAB 9-3 ABS module repair Fixed DTC U0212

I fixed the SAAB ABS module with DTC U0212, no Tech2 required.

2008 SAAB 9-3 Aero 2.8L V6 6 speed auto

Part numbers of the module are at the end of the video

I am not a mechanic, I am only showing you how I fixed my problem. Do not try this unless you understand the consequences, you could damage the ABS module and be stranded.

The first thing to check if you have this problem is the Battery, SAABs are very sensitive to weak batteries. I replaced mine a week before this video but the fault came straight back.

Happy SAABing!

This worked for me as well! Having a right hand drive car did make getting the ECU off the ABS more difficult. I removed the battery and battery box. I also cracked the brake booster vacuum line in the process, that I had to repair.

I tried the repair and it worked perfectly. Thank you very much for documenting this and putting it online.

Very hard to hear but seems helpful

Ricardo S. Nava says:

What did you use to glue the lid back onto the module? Or did you not use any? Thanks in advance!

RonnieTheFinBear says:

Hey, thanks for the video. Is this fix still working out well for you?

Sketchy Coffee says:

Thank you for this video wish I would have seen it sooner but still sooo helpful- bless you!!!

Jerry Duffey says:

Overall this was"generally" helpful, but not"specifically" helpful. Right Hand drive cars have A LOT more room next to the ABS module than LH drive models. Would be better to show and list the size of the torx head driver. Hoping I can even get it out at all.

What kind ofSoldering material Did u use ? N thanks

speakersboy76 says:

I finally got time to do mine, followed exact instructions, resoldered and its a week now and the car did not show any error!! Hope it stays like that.

How long did this repair last?

Abdul Samad says:

Thanks for posting this video; this would have been more helpful with a bit of more detail. Especially, how did you manage to open the 4 torque screws in that tight space without removing the battery and the ABS Pump ? How did you manage to put the module back in without bending the pin/connector that goes into the Module slot at the bottom ? How did you figure what connections are to be re-soldered ?
I had removed the ABS Module and sent it to BBA Reman and they returned to me without any clear indication either they cannot fix it or the module is faulty or not. They refused to give me the findings of their tests on the unit. Any ideas to share ?
