Installing Factory Navigation in Your Saab! (Part 1)

Installing Factory Navigation in Your Saab! (Part 1)

In this vid, I go over how to install the factory Delphi satellite navigation radio in your 07-11 Saab 9-3. I ran into a few hiccups that are resolved in my part 2. Everything works (including steering wheel controls) with the exception of Onstar and the voice recognition/commands. I will show how to add the voice recognition in a part 3. maxim martinez says:

Do you know how to fix a blank screen but stereo still works

Jair Romero says:

Hi, greetings, I will soon install my browser, just that I have a question, I need to remove the radio from the other car so that it works on mine? or can I do everything with my car? (I have tech 2) thanks

EnricoSWE says:

Does this work with older SAAB, like the one with cassettes, SAAB 9-5 AERO from 2003?

Paulo Santos says:

I´ve just got today a used GPS for my 2007 SAAB 9.3 (Diesel). A litle bit expensive (€190 in Portugal, place were use to be manufactured 🙂 :), about $210 USD), but apparently is in very good conditions. Hope not have bad surprises. I´ll install it following your indications. I wonder if you could help me with the addicional cables brands and references (antenna adaptores for exemple). Thanks a lot for your PRECIOUS tips! GREAT JOB!

Alexander Nilsson says:

Wow, great video. Was alot easier to install a ICM3 on my 9-3 2003 however. Just plug-in, tech 2 install et voila. No GPS though, but still a big facelift

Raad Mirza says:

Don Medlock says:

Great video. I am thinking of ugrading to aftermarket video. I don't have a tool to "divorce" it. Will i be okay by still being "married"? lol

JSingh21 says:

I fitted this unit on my 2010 9 3 and didn't cut any wires. It was simply plug and play with the exception of the adaptors you showed and the tech2 program. Works fine but no AM and no XM.

davezgy1 says:

I don't know who you are on FB or in real life, but I just want to say thank you for sharing all these information. I added the factory Nav unit myself but the learning curve was quite long after asking (bothering) way too many times and hours of internet research. Keep up with what you are doing, people like you are the reason why a dead car brand is still around till this day.

Joes Golden Garage says:

I just answered my own question. Heck yeah man!

Jim Wilson says:

Can you recommend a site that sells the OEM Navigation unit for a 2010 Saab? Can other GM navigation units be used?

Tomás Figueroa S says:

Wow! Good job!!! I'm thinking in changing the radio of my saab but I'm not so sure right now, what about the steering wheel? the options still working? Greeting from Chile!

MOBBAK says:

Very good work, but you have missed to install this part number 12781884, without it, the quality of the sound of the speakers won't be that good, and won't match the loudness of the previous head unit that can make.

Saab Enthusiast- Omar says:

I had to do a lot of optic fiber wiring to install my icm 3 on the older 2003 saab 9-3 it was worth it and without any videos on YouTube on it was worth the try since I got the radio for $5 at pick n pull during a sale and it works no errors no tech 2 I have full functionality which is odd

oceantrolls73 says:

Extremely informative. Great job. Thanks. I wonder how easy is it to install the Chinese stereos available on line… Tia.

A Omar says:

That’s what I’m gonna do next in my
Saab 93 vector sport 2009
Thanks for the video.
