DIY: Test SAAB boost pressure control valve BPC

DIY: Test SAAB boost pressure control valve BPC

In this vid i will show you how to test your Saab’s T7 BPC valve. This valve can cause low boost, over boost or fuel cut’s. Easy test!

Mad Joe says:

If I disconnect that, I receive boost? Or not?

David Q says:

Clear and concise. Thanks!

Sapper T says:

Thank you for good video

Ryan G says:

Im pretty sure he misunderstood how to bypass the BPC. You connect a hose directly from the port on the compressor housing to the port on the wastegate… He mistakenly connected the "w" and "c" ports on the BPC which I dont think does anything because the C port is the input port. Disconnect that and the valve wont do anything because it has no pressure to work with anymore.

Nigiri Sushi mmm says:

whatabout installing a manual boost controller so you override the stock bpc valve the only difference will be that you get 0,8 bar pressure in 1st and 2nd gear instead of the initial 0,4 bar in 1st and 2nd gear. 3rd, 4th and 5th gear are always 0,8 bar.

I’m so immature when you said waste gate nipple I laughed so hard

cabum says:

SAAB 9-5 2003 – Unable to allocate the fuel pressure test port. I'd be highly appreciated for your help.

JoHnnY DYAS says:

Hi. Are you Romanian? Is normal for this bpcv to buzz on ignition is on but engine off?????

JUSTIN PETERSON says:

Hey how do you hook the hoses back up to it? Like witch goes where?

JoHnnY DYAS says:

You are Romanian????? Cheers

Steve Leed says:

Thanks DIY. My problem and you were spot on. Explained very well. Cheers.

Nathan Lee says:

I got 12 ohms.
Is that okay?

Daniel Powell says:

Thanks what a great video! Great tip about the 7 ohms!

Nigiri Sushi mmm says:

Is this bpc valve from the 9-3 interchangeable with the 900ng turbo bpc valve?
If not what kind of things are possible?
The engine ecu is controlling the valve. So at the 900ng are 3 wires connected to the valve.  What adjustments do I need to make to make it fit and work the same?
Do I have to design some sort of circuit board to convert the input signal from the 900ng to let it work with the 9-3 bpc valve
Thanks

Dec1mator says:

i know this is old video but do some ome knwo what can cause sometimes (not allways) stuttering when accelerating, and only when accelerating. Could it be this valve and btw the engine is the 3,0 TiD and yeas the problem goes away when i disconnect this valve connector.

Mike Alaska says:

My boost guage is stuck almost straight up between white and yellow and never moves. Help.

Oingo Boingo says:

Thank You..Very good video!

El_Chino Rodriguez says:

What is Fuel Cut? No Fuel is delivered for engine combustion OR Fuel Consumption (MPG) is reduced. Thanks

rodrigino1 says:

so if I disconnected it and it feels the same (boost only into mid yellow) then my part is bad? I read the opposite on a forum. Just double checking before I order a part

Viktor Dimitrovski says:

My bpc valve is new and i still get code p1549. I checked the resistance and it says 10 ohms on the bpc…but its brand new!!!!!

RagingWhiteman says:

I will give this a try. Thank you for the video.

steve driver says:

very very good helpful video thank you,,,,, very good important thing to watch,,,the top of my valve blew off after I fitted a new original turbo,,i drove car to warm engine the pushed to 5800rpm 4 times or 6 and blew valve off,,it fell apart..,,steve in Australia

KsN Gaming says:

Ï might have this problem! Because on wide open throttle on first and second gear it goes good. but when open throttle on third, fourth and fifth i get stuttering. on low rpm and when i push the pedal wide open i get massive stuttering. and when i already am on higher rpm i still get stuttering but not as heavy. u think that the BPC is my problem?

7mumfred7 says:

Hey, nice explanation and I wish I had seen this video before today, which was not a good day for me. Would you be interested in diagnosing my very strange turbo problem?
Car is a 9-5, 2004 (Arc) and was driving fine (with good turbo boost) except for just a red check engine light. Went to a garage and he said there were two codes, P1662 and P1110. Came back to the garage this morning, and had the Turbo Charger Boost Pressure Valve replaced; later on, a broken vacuum hose was found and fixed. When I drove away, as soon as I got into 2nd gear and 3rd gear, the rev counter went into the red, the engine light was flashing…. I turned around on the highway, but the garage had closed. It was barely OK in 4th gear, but 5th gear was fine at 45mph – 65mph.
So I had to limp home 70 miles ….and strangely, slowly the problem lessened… and it seemed completely fixed, with full turbo power when I arrived in my town!
But 5 minutes after parking, I re-started the car, and the problem is clearly still there, only not so bad. Now what? I cant go back to these guys, obviously…
Your thoughts on the cause? Some dirt maybe somewhere? Or fragments of the rotted hose rubber?
Thanks much for any help :o)

M Leightle says:

my bpc valve is reading at 7.4 is that okay? I know nearly .5+ resistance in some applications can make a difference. You said it should be at around 7

chvydrptop says:

Thank you for the video, do you clean all the tubes with contact cleaner and compressed air or just the first tube?
