$0.00 Repair For Saab 9-5 Power Window – Trionic Seven

The passenger side power window stopped working on my 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero, this is how I repaired it. These instructions apply to all 1998-2010 Saab 9-5 models.

Swedish: Här reparerar jag den elektriska fönsterhissen på passagerarsidan i min Saab 9-5.

Is it possible this can be transferred to the adjusting of side mirrors currently not working on a 9-5 2002?

MrNoysip says:

Tjenare, har precis införskaffat mig en 9-5 från 00 men stereon ger inte från sig några ljud! Kan ändra kanaler och allt sånt men inget ljud kommer! Kollade även under sätet om steget var paj men fanns inget där! Några idéer?

Great video, as always. Love the Haynes reference. I had a window switch that was sticky…wouldn't snap back to center like it should. Like you, I disassembled the switch and found there was sticky mass all around the black buttons. I'd guess Coke or Pepsi spilled on the switch. I cleaned it up, sprayed some electrical cleaner around the clear pieces (didn't go that far with my disassembly!). Works fine.

Eric Lessard says:

Had the same problem (rear right window only), but did not go as far as unmounting all the little contacts. I just removed all the black caps, cleaned around the white plastic casing and shot some WD-40 inside through the clear plastic controls and put everything back toghether and it worked! Thanks so much for putting that up. If you don't hear the motor working to lift the window, it is most likely a swich problem, which it was.

Jacek Polacek says:

I have a problem that where u go back the window and it's not going up is may be the same problem?

Wow I remember we use to replace the switch pack all the time on customer cars but when it came to ours we would pull them apart and clean them, I was told that it was only a problem in car where people would eat and drink inside the car, cause in Sweden they don't believe in eating in there cars that's why Saab did not put cup holders in there vehicle until GM forced them to so they put the worst in dash cup holder possible lol I love my quirky Saab.

FastPuma says:

i had this problem on my 2000 saab 93, rear window didnt work, for some reason someone disconnect it behind the door card, reconnected it, job done…

Hi can you do a video on how to replace a gear knob on Saab 9-5 aero 2005 ….or at least advice me on how to take it off..

delano88888 says:

Do you know if there is a way to get a WIS working on win10? Because mine just refuses to install.

Suregom440 says:

Hi,
I took the switches of the 9-3OG apart last week to remove some mess between them.
They look pretty similar form the inside, except the transparent plastic is integrated in the switch.
When reassembling I noticed there were multiple types of the little metal/brass plates which are loose inside and switch.
They sure fit everywhere, but when placed wrong made a slightly bigger or smaller stroke. Also the one of the lock switch is different from the window switches. It might cause your problem.
The 9-3OG switches can be taken apart without damage, it's also easy the immediately change the light bulb, if it is disassembled.
Cheers.
