2007 Porsche Cayman: AC and Fan Button (i.e., climate control) DIY replacement

This should work for 2005 to 2012 applications and 996/987/986/997 models.

Don’t pay the dealer $1,100+ for this service. They will make you purchase the whole unit for $799 plus installation. The replacement part is $169 shipped from the UK, which isn’t cheap but a much better deal. I purchased mine from climarepair.com and anyone with basic mechanic skills can complete this project.

Tools needed: estimated time is 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete or sooner.

• T6 bit
• T20 bit
• T30 bit
• Small screw driver
• 1/4 ratchet or battery powered ratchet
• Tweezers
• Patience

If you’re in Austin, TX area I can probably help you with this for a fraction of the cost with you supplying the part.

Van, great video thank you!! It took about an hour in total. The only thing I did differently was I did not remove the fan.

**EASY!?!?! Your idea of easy and mine are quote different! Lol. Nice project and one that many of these cars need. Crazy pricey parts. I bet someone with a 3D printer could make some money here…
