Porsche Cayenne 955/957 Ignition Coil & Spark Plug Replacement DIY (2003-2010 Porsche Cayenne)

Porsche Cayenne 955/957 Ignition Coil & Spark Plug Replacement DIY (2003-2010 Porsche Cayenne)

►Porsche 955 & 957 ignition coil & spark plug replacement is one of the simpler jobs you can complete on your Cayenne. Porsche recommends replacing spark plugs every four years or 30,000 miles, so replacing them yourself along with your coil packs can save you an incredible amount of money over the lifetime of your vehicle – especially if you’re taking advantage of our Lifetime Replacement Guarantee.

On this specific Porsche Cayenne 957, we did not know the age of the spark plugs or ignition coils, so one of the first jobs we completed was replacing these with new OE parts.

Follow along as Ben Marouski, FCP Euro’s resident Porsche 957 owner, replaces the ignition coils and spark plugs with nothing more than a few basic handtools using our Porsche Cayenne Ignition Service Kit.

Thanks for the video. I ordered the kit and you guys provide the dielectric grease but I didn't see it used in this video. Does it need to be used?

Sergiu T. says:

i see on the site you sell both Beru and Bremi ignition coils. although i’ve heard about Beru, what’s the story with Bremi? any good on a Cayenne Turbo 955?

For those of us who are not as well versed, the fast speed in several areas of the video dont allow for clear viewing of whats actually being done…sloooowww 'er down please!

I bought Denso spark plugs in stead of Bosch this time round, Is the gapping that important? What’s the significance? Car drives fine, no codes.

M. Cooper says:

A common issue with the 957 4.8 motor seems to be P2181 — Cooling System Performance, usually because of a stuck open thermostat. That job and the replacement of the water pump in front of the thermostat looks too complex for DIY. What do you say? Thanks for these Cayenne videos.

THANK YOU AGAIN WITH THE 957!! FCP Euro you are the LEGENDS!

Dear Subscribers
I consider to buy 957 4.8s or Turbo. Which one would be reasonable choice? It could be over 100,000mile

Another great 955/957 video – keep them coming! I'd love to see ones on replacing the carbon canister and the thermostat/water pump.
