Porsche 996 911 MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) Replacement DIY – Carrera & Targa

Porsche 996 911 MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) Replacement DIY – Carrera & Targa

►Replacing the mass air flow sensor, also commonly referred to as the MAF, on a Porsche 996 911 is one of the easier DIYs you can do in your garage. Before replacing your MAF, you can attempt to clean it with MAF cleaner. If that doesn’t solve your problems, replacing it only requires a few hand tools.

There aren’t many symptoms of a failing mass air flow sensor on your Porsche 996. While you might experience some stuttering or hesitation, typically, the most apparent indicator is a check engine light with an associated fault code. Some of the potential Porsche 996 fault codes for the MAF are:

Fault Code – P0100: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit
Fault Code – P0101: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem
Fault Code – P0102: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
Fault Code – P0103: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input
Fault Code – P0104: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Intermittent
