Numeric Racing Short Shifter and Cables Install – Porsche 987

After installing the Porsche OEM SSK and still being disappointed, I succumbed finally to the ‘full monty’ Numeric Racing solution.

While I ran into a snag due to my aluminum intake pipe on IPD Plenum and Throttle Body setup, this video will show you what you need.

Great video. 2 questions.
1. So, if I have a stock Boxster Base I shouldn't have Any issues routing/running the new cables, I can just follow the path of the OEM cables without interference? Is that the cause for th difficulty shifting into 2nd gear?

2. at 17:20 you talk about positioning the shift lever by pushing and pulling to the full extent. Is there an adjustment you're making to ensure the cable is travelling the full distance? It's not clear.

Thanks again for the video…

Has anyone experienced increased cabin noise from the shifter cables/transmission?

What kind of lift are you using ?

Can I buy your OEM SSK?

Hey D Wray, another person here with a 2nd gear problem. I have a Gen 2 S, with an aluminium IPD plenum. The only way I can get 2nd gear to function properly is to remove the intake from the car. I've tried every route but the plenum gets in the way. I did manage to get everything back together with the cable in place, however, the throw for 2nd was very short and it didn't engage every time. Have you had any luck?

Hi I just watched your video and really thought it was good- i'm in UK and ordered the kit too- but they're telling me they can't find the wrench! I can't drive the car and really need these cables installing- i saw norcal's video too and he talks about the wrench being important to install- do you know the size of the wrench? I'm thinking about trying to find one in a bike shop or something- i'd really really appreciate your help on this!

Great instructional guide.
Unrelated question: did you specify or choose the Spyder without the bucket seats? If so, why?

mike9999947 says:

Hi. What did you do at the firewall to replace the rubber holder?

Tom Hunt says:

How much for the kit?

Juan Miguel says:

Looks good! Are you having any issues engaging any gears? I just had this installed this past week here in AZ and going in and out of 2nd requires considerably more force

Perfect timing, I'm having Numeric's installed in the next 2 weeks or so, (by a qualified garage, as it's way above my skill level)…very interested in your driving impressions…
