In this video, we will be addressing a common question that we receive regarding the programming of remote controls for Porsche 911 models between the years 1994 to 1998. A customer has purchased remote controls from us, but was unable to program them to their car despite having the 4 digit pin code. Therefore, the customer is sending us the immobilizer and keys of their car to be programmed. However, the customer also asked if the immobilizer can be bypassed, which is a separate issue.

The immobilizer module is often mistaken for controlling the drive blocking features inside the engine computer. In reality, the immobilizer unit acts as an antenna that receives signals from the remote controls and communicates with the engine computer to disable the drive block, allowing the car to start. If you wanted to disable the immobilizer, we would do so the ECU.

Furthermore, the customer asked if the key fobs can be used to lock and unlock the doors, and if the alarm can be turned off by putting the key in the door lock. Locking and unlocking the doors using the remote controls is how these cars are meant to work.

As for turning off the alarm using the key in the door lock, it depends on the coding of the car, and we do not have a definitive answer.
