Today we learn how to install & replace Porsche 911 912 rear spring plate bushings, plus how to remove torsion bars and set the ride height adjustment with spring plate as we suspension revive a classic air-cooled Porsche 911 912.
This video covers how to change the ride height of your Porsche 911 and how to change porsche 911 rear suspension bushings as well.
Replacing the 4 rubber bushings on the spring plate in the rear suspension on a Porsche 911 or 912 isn’t a hard job at all to do for the home DIY Porsche owner. The parts only cost about $60, takes about 3 hours using basic hand tools. The only real special tools you’ll need is a $10 angle finder from your local hardware store of from the Amazon link below.
My 1967 Porsche 912 coupe is unique, instead of the original Porsche 616 motor (the same motor found in the Porsche 356 model), I put in a 1976 Porsche 912E VW Type 4 motor. The VW Type 4 motor will mount to the stock Porsche 901 transmission, the only issues I had was the engine tin and motor mount.
Follow along in this video as we restore my classic 1967 Porsche 912 (Porsche 911 with a 4 cylinder motor).
