How to Install a Dash Cam in a Porsche 911, #BlackVue #DR750-2CH LTE

My fellow Automotive Fanatics and Porsche Diehards, I welcome you to my channel for another DIY! Today video is Part II of a Dash Cam install on the Porsche 911 997. We will be installing BlackVue’s DR-DR750-2CH LTE dash cam.

In addition, I will be installing BlackVue’s Power Magic Ultra Battery (B-124x). This item is a MUST if you want to safely have continuous “Parking Mode” enabled on your Blackvue dash cams. You’ll also want to use Blackvue’s app to monitor your Ultra Battery!

If you want to skip ahead:

0:37 intro to the DIY
5:12 preparing the interior
8:41 setting up the wiring
12:27 routing wires to back-up battery
15:35 photo of wiring layout
16:02 final comments and discussion

Even though the installation was performed on 997, the process should be very similar to other Porsche 911:

– decide on camera location
– determine which panels need to be removed
– route the cables and wires (STAY AWAY from the curtain airbags if your Porsche has them)
– if using the Ultra Battery, determine which fuse is the “accessory” and tap in (make sure it’s 15amp)
– hook up the Ultra Battery
– neatly tie up all the wires and power the units on
– never worry about your dash-cam exhausting your car’s battery

Together, these two products are quite a combination. A stellar dash cam with a battery that will allow you over 15+hrs of parking mode time! No brainer if you ask me.

If you guys have any questions, please post below and I will reply. As always, thank you for watching and supporting my channel! Until the next time, this is Peter, The Automotive Fanatic!
