DIY Porsche 911/991 Battery Replacement (How to save $374.00)

We took our 911 to the local deal for 2 recalls and while it was in there they noted the battery was 8 years old and it was reaching end of life. They recommended a replacement battery at the cost of $588.00 installed. We did it as a DIY for $214.00 saving $374.00.

I was quite shocked at the $588.99 dealer price and got to thinking there must be something special about a Porsche battery. After doing a little research I found the only thing special was that it is an AGM battery which is totally sealed and does not require venting, this is important to know when selecting a group 49 replacement.

By doing this as a 15 min DIY project we save $374.00
