Difficult Broken Decklid Release Tube Repair – PORSCHE 356

Difficult Broken Decklid Release Tube Repair – PORSCHE 356

The welding never stops on my Porsche 356! This week I fix a broken decklid release tube with a welder on my fully painted car. Not sure why this tube broke, but I’m certain it won’t break again now that I’ve reinforced it. Even though I wasn’t afraid to weld inside this painted car, I did end up using JB weld so I didn’t burn through or disturb the fresh paint inside the closed cavity below the repair.
Thank you all for watching!

Unfortunately the shot of me lying in the back seat area using the TIG pedal and two hands on the torch/filler wire didn't work out. Just imagine the game of Twister

Excellent repair on that tube. I used JB Weld on a cab corner repair this week… That stuff is awesome.

Missing one event for new chrome. I think it’s worth it. Nice repair on the deck latch. Thanks for update
