Deviated Seat Belts – Install DIY – Porsche 911

Deviated Seat Belts – Install DIY – Porsche 911

In this video we go through everything you need to remove the front and rear seats as well as the front seat belts from a 911. We then go back through an install some new red seatbelts that I bought from #MaxspeedMotorsports. You send in your removed OEM seat belts, they replace the webbing and send them right back! Although the seatbelt device behind the trim panel itself is different for the 991, the approach to removing the front seats, rear seats and the seatbelts is the same for other 911 models, such as the 996 and 997 generations.

**NOTE / DISCLAIMER / WARNING: The seats and seatbelts are obviously a vital safety feature of a car. Viewers assume all liability and accountability for trying to reproduce any of the activities performed or featured in this video. Always prioritize safety first. If in doubt, always speak to your Porsche dealer or local Porsche specialists before attempting any of this jobs**

Jeffrey Azharuddin says:

I have a couple questions
First before you uninstall the seat belt did u take off the battery positive or negative?
Second do u have video to uninstall the rear seat belt?
Third if i put It back the seat belt n plug the battery back the airbag will pop up on the meter or not?

etc etc says:

Hey James – see that your removed rear surround speaker. Do you have to remove the panel in order to remove the speaker or can you just remove the grill to remove the speaker? Also, how do you remove the grill, just pry out? Thanks!

Phil M. says:

Tweeker…. lol

erick jekums says:

Is there anyway u can do a video on how to add a sport chrono clock to a 991 ?? I’m sure threre is a lot of us that want to add!!

Tony Klimas says:

I'd like to come help you get that blue tape off… please… 🙂

Edwin Remudaro says:

Nice add on. You should consider replacing the rear belts as well to have some symmetry.

Todd Smith says:

1) excellent video on a very nice add on (even though I still think you should have gone with yellow),
2) since you went with red, the carbon fiber shift with red accents looks killer,
3) the special torx bolts are called “security torx”
3) thank Noah again for the tip, I may actually look into that for the bone stock 993 Cab,
Keep up the great videos on your mods!!!

Last Rasp says:

Awesome level of detail James. So good. Can you swing by my place and do mine?

Fastpitch Net says:

Very nice… Your next project should be changing some of those crappy Bose speakers. I own a Macan and those speakers you were installing back look very familiar… Sub par for a Porsche, let alone a 911. I changed all speakers and then the amplifier. The audio had improved significantly. It would make for a nice auto-amateur video!

Look at my story in the DIY Forum (still building it up, but will be complete soon): https://www.diymobileaudio.com/threads/my-2015-porsche-macan-audio-upgrade-log.432348/#post-5869625

KRT LYFE says:

I remember taking the seats out of my 996 there are very heavy indeed! Good job the new belts look fantastic!

Martin Riese says:

Hey, I really enjoy your videos. I own a 991.1 4S, the first thing I did in modification was an update on the steering wheel to the 991.2 steering wheel. Best modifications ever, the whole interior will look so much better.

mariodesmo says:

Nice mod, I've been thinking of swapping out my black belts for silver to match my C2S. You make it look so easy! I just need to convince myself to pull those heavy seats out! I can feel my hernia acting up already! lol
As for more red mods, I suggest wrapping the car in red!
But wait, what's up with the red air bag light? Did you take a knife to this one also?

FunWithAJ says:

Looks great but I have to agree the backs need to be done to complete the look.

Tigerdon says:

Looks great! Why is the airbag light on though?

Andy Cole says:

'After market duberry'! So English, love it! Great video James

Chris Johnson says:

Great video. Seems like a bit of a PITA, but you really should do the rear belts, too. What is a "tweaker" that you reference? Do you mean tweeter? 🙂

ecolyn says:

Hmmm…. ridiculous amount of work… for taking Piccard to Warp-speed (seatbelt) Speed ???
