Do not split console handle as shown here because you are more likely than not liable to break the plastic clips that hold the two pieces together. As of November, 2018, replacement handles are readily available from GM Parts in grey only. Instead, remove the small cover below the handle to access the two screws that mount it to the side of the upper center console.
