10:19 Recap
In this video I move to the inside of the Firebird and start reviving the interior. I recover the headliner and run into some issues along the way. This was my first attempt at recovering a headliner, so it was definitely a learning experience. Take what I did right and learn from what I did wrong.
This video is applicable to any 4th Gen F Body. 1993-2002.
A few tips.
-When cutting the material, pull it tought. That way you want have the jagged edges like I did.
-Make sure you have a clean and clutter free work area.
-WEAR GLOVES. I can’t stress this enough. Long sleeves would be a plus as well. The first time I was removing the old material, it got all over me. Afterwards when I would sweat, it burned.
-Cut evenly and it will make wrapping it much easier.
-If you use the 3M adhesive, use the high setting when coating the backer board and material. Use low when you are wrapping it around the back.
-Verify all repairs. If a spot seems a little weak, treat it as a tear.
-Take your time. I probably have maybe 2-3 hours in this.
TOTAL COST
Fabric-$11
3M Adhesive $18

For the price, you can’t beat it.
