My grand prix exhaust just broke at the very front end of the resonator, I think I got room to just clamp on a small adapter. It crossed my mind to bypass the resonator completely if it don't fit with straight pipe. Some web sites advise against it warning of back pressure, but I really don't see any reason for actually NEEDING a resonator. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
