Actually I found a better wayall you got to do if your hands are small enough is reach up underneath the console and twist the bulb out replace put it back in your done

Why did you go thru all those steps to replace bulb.  You don't need to remove anything on your dash.  Just the four screws and lift the console up.  The hard part is the clips that are wedged in the back of the console.  It takes a bit of uplift force but it won't break.  The bulb socket just takes a 1/4 twist and it pops out.
