HIT AND RUN make and model found! + £ Quote to fix my Peugeot 205 GTI.

Through the lens fragments we identified the car that crashed into Pepé, my Peugeot 205 Gti. Have you seen one like this in the Oxford area? There can’t be that many MG ZS around..

Your problem is, that you can proof nothing. The driver can blame you for rear ended him…

AJ says:

Did the neighbours have a party and someone was lashed up and drove home?

Rev Lexus says:

Years ago a 2003 Vauxhall Omega hit my BMW 1 series (f20) and drove off. I had the regi plate but the police weren't interested in pursing them 🙁

Bongo Fury says:

I learnt to drive in a 205 1.4GT (nearly as good as a 1.6GTi but 10 insurance groups lower) and then got a Dimma 1.9 GTi. Crazy aquaplaning but man I had some fun…also owned a heavily modified 405 Mi16 4×4 which was almost a touring car…fast Pugs are great fun.

As someone has already said, the wankers to good people ratio has changed for the worse in recent decades. That car will probably return if your neighbours know them; unless of course they're enjoying your posts on YouTube. A pity that the sporty hatchbacks of today are as bland and uninspiring as that mg badged piece of crap that hit your lovely Peugeot.

Sneeuwwolf says:

Police can find the culprit. Not many white MG's sold in UK. Especially in that area. So bottom line: you pay taxes. You expect the cops to help (which they can, trust me) and they do nothing. They just need to check out the 5 or so MG's in your area. It's that simple.
Another thing: they can talk to MG dealer to ask if anyone brought a white one in with rear light damage. Cops can also check traffic camera's. This take zero time. But hey, they have 'more important' stuff to do.

John Bishop says:

Why in heavens name would you not buy it back , repair it,report it to the police as another contributor suggests.

Chris Iorio says:

Had a similar incident with my VW Jetta Flair II coupe. Had it parked on the street and came home to find the drive fender smashed. Based on the damage and where the car was located, the only possibility was it happened while my neighbour across the street backed out of her driveway. I confront them with the evidence, which of course they denied. Needless to say, those neighbours where left off my Christmas card list, and I hope they rot in hell.

Jacko says:

The recommended brought me back for the update 🙂

aether elephant says:

It's just cosmetic!! We've resurrected our 205s more times than I can count mate.. if it's written off just buy it back from the insurance company for scrap value, bend it back and wait for the parts u need to come up bro.. u can't kill a 205 that easily man.. Don't get disheartened. Bless you.

Death Nights-Bane says:

If you can get one a first gen ford escort or a 1974 Capri rs, it's some what practical my uncle owns one as his day to day car, they are nice little cars but 2 door and very hard to come by, those would be nice alternatives, but you seem passionate about pepe so save the car, every one has their special 1, 2 or 3 cars, mine are a 1965 Xp falcon, a FG xr6 and a XH falcon panel van named gypsy, gypsy had quite a few issues when we bought her but with a little TLC and some passion she's now almost ready to be registered, so stick with pepe, if you do good by the car it'll do good by you and from what I can tell you and pepe have a special bond. Best of luck to you

John J says:

Having spent a lot of time in France in the 80's, it looks more authentically French now. Shame though, hope someone sorts it.

Sebastian Luraniec says:

Why people hating on MG? MG bankrupted – bought by Chinese. Not SAIC fault they went out of the business. They cheap? Well good for us – customers. Aren't you all tired of buying german overpriced, unreliable cars? Ahh yessss that badge…

O rand says:

Mrk 2 golf gti, pleeeeaaasssseeeeee

That Buick Guy says:

Its a 205. Parts arent hard to come by. It is a common car of which there are millions. 3000gbp for this?! You can buy 3 205’s for that hahaha. Parts are dime a dozen in scrappersyard and cars like this can be fixed for crisps money. Its not a 250GTO or a DB5….

TimberWulf says:

the rare pepe still lives!

10poundnote says:

Did Lamborghini do your estimate quote? Any back street garage will do it for £250.

Au nom de Dieu Le très Miséricordieux says:

If you have friends in police sometimes with paint code they catch the car

Au nom de Dieu Le très Miséricordieux says:

Try to find if one of your neighbour have a camera shooting the direction of your 205

insert name here says:

£3k? just pay it on a interest free credit card over 20 months! don't get it written off as it will have a cat C or D mark against it on the DVLA …..forever

Jonathan Hayward says:

someone hit my 407 coupe with a Hyundai crossover. They owned up but left a piece of paper with the reg, and the rental car's office phone number. I got a cash pay out as they didn't think it wasn't worth fixing. Just a scrape on front wing.

Pancakes says:

Maybe they went to fast and spun into the car
