✔ Tutorial how to BSI reset step by step on Citroen and Peugeot

BSI Problems and reset procedure.

Don’t buy a new BSI (Body Systems Interface or Body Control Unit) for your Citroen or Peugeot until you have read this and tried a factory reset first. Very often the reset will solve a multitude of problems especially the ones that suddenly happened after you fitted a new battery to your car or the ones that just ‘appeared’ form nowhere!
– Economy mode active?
– Wipers stopped working?
– Central locking gone mad?
– Windows stopped working?
– Indicators and lights doing their own thing?

All of the above can be caused by a nutty BSI and often a reset is all it needs so try this….
Put the driver’s window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off (stereo, lights, wiper, etc)
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors).
Switch on the side lights through the driver’s window.
Switch on the ignition and check system’s functionality.
Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.
Remove key open & close door test central locking system.
Start the engine and complete the system’s check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.

I wonder if there is a similar procedure for a Peugeot 2008, year 2014. I did my best to follow the steps hoping it would get rid of ABS warning lights, Battery charging faults reports, Power Steering fault, Anti-rollback system fault and occasional jerky car engine errors but nothing changed. Maybe I was asking a little too much and the car is broken properly! I also tried the short-circuiting of the positive and negative terminal cables with a wire when they had been removed from the battery. I still get the same beeping and multiple faults on the dashboard. This car randomly stops indicating how fast I'm traveling and also randomly turns off the power steering while in motion. The GPS occasionally stops working properly as well. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I have citroen picasso xsara 2.0hdi, the car just crank but not starting and it started to switch off the radio and deshbord then the lights and wipers went on. Now my remote does not respond but I can open doors manually and also the engine but doesn't start. What must I do?

Andrey Ivanov says:

Would this fix the "speed detection fault"? … Basically, cruise control works perfectly fine – no problems. BUT, when i activate the speed limiter instead; i get the yellow triangle in the dashboard, plus a message on the MFD, saying something like [speed detection fault!] – (or something like that).

Would this trick fix that by any chance?

P.S. – I read on forums that this particular problem with the speed limiter not working/showing a fault, is evidently caused by a switch, located inside the gas pedal assembly… I mean, really? How bizzare… Idk… =

Car is a (2006), 307 SW model.
