Just so you know, pretty much the majority of the older cars need the inner door frame drilled or ground out to access the window motor bolts. I know that on my dads 93 F150 I had to. They may have changed the design on most modern cars now but not sure. Its not as hard as it looks.

SMH! GM, what a bunch of fucking idiots! So, I have to cut the panel to get the motor out… such bullshit. *sigh* Just a major pain in the ass.

So, I take it the only way to get the window back up is to remove the motor, right? I tried to pull the window up by hand, it won’t budge. Such a primitive design flaw, they should have known after so many years and so many failures to remedy the problem with a new design… this really “grinds my gears”!

Appreciate the info very much! Own three 79 Hurst cars so this will come in handy! Two of the cars are T-top cars and I’m in a frame off restoration of one of the them currently. Keep the vid’s coming.

Funny you say that. This is the second passenger window motor I have done on these cars too.

GM cars always seem to have problems with the passenger side power windows. My Cutlass had that problem and my firebird has that problem. And have seen it on other GM cars too but the driverside would always work perfectly. Could be just a coincidence LOL.
