Come on….do you prepump the lifters or not ? 🙂 – if you do , tell us why – thanks
Montello told me when I purchased there 455 I was going to get 550 hp I see that didn't happen would not purchase another engine from them
What is that metal grinding sound when the engine starts up. Almost sounds similar to NASCAR engine starts
At 51 seconds he referred to the cam as as a hydraulic roller, which it isn't. Your fancy tv like editing should have caught that. A stock 455 olds isn't 455 cubic inches, only 454.3 but called a 455 for some reason. You didn't make one horsepower per cubic inch because that block was bored/honed oversize. At .030 your 454.3 becomes 461 cubic inches.
My daughter's 71 442 w-30 has holley dominator intake and Joe mondello 850 double pumper small 308 degree duration cam smokes tires all way through second gear!!!!!
What's the part number on the headers?
installed a 403 intake manifold on a 307 olds motor what difference.
They should get rid of Buick and bring back Oldsmobile or Pontiac
Where did you get the splash gaurd for the lifter valley?
These guys are weiners!!!
With Mondello you have to watch, I have a friend who talked to them followed their advice spent a lot of money and the motor was a turd. Their reply was "send it to us" aka. pay us
Wrong intake manifold for that cam. Should have use a single plane intake instead. I guess that's what you get for using Edelbrick stuff…
The loose lipstick serendipitously invent because pheasant synthetically judge from a wary meteorology. black, few fierce multimedia
that is a different block you painted the lifter valley in the first episode
This thing is a dog. All those parts and no power. You can get the same power from most stock bottom end small blocks. With good heads, a cam, headers and a few more parts. A dog I tells ya, Dr. Olds is a quack.
The olds will never be the big boy racing engine
I had this in my jet boat not bad
455s were blue
You guys should stroke a Oldsmobile 455 see how much horsepower and torque you can get out of it
I love watching your guys' videos, but why would you install components on painted surfaces?
that olds 455 was one of the fastest motors i ever done tourq moster
A good Qjet may be better… Oldsmobile engines seem to just love em.
Being stuck with that manifold back at the time, it would have helped to port it, cut out the plenum divider and run a nice 1" or more spacer. Would be interesting to know exact cr and cam specs.
I used to talk business with Joe, and wow did he cuss! He could not function without it.
