So the special gate is an actual gear selector meaning it’s gonna be in that gear and that gear only? Like if you were in 3rd its only gonna be in 3rd not shift up to 3rd?

Is this like a precursor to the paddle shifters in modern cars?

What size stall is in this car it shifts so smooth
if you're going to shift like that you don't need a dual gate.
