@Spacemonster2024 says:

I was always curious what kind of material cvt belts were made of.

Oh well, my 2015 corolla with a cvt never gave me any problems. I hear the manufacturer for nissan cvts are garbage. Maybe they need to switch manufacturers.

@zepheris_ says:

Only the parts Made in the USA are bad.

@spookytreats2195 says:

Nothing better than 6 speed manual!!!

@keeperzero says:

Nissan started to go downhill once they get rid of that Chinese guy in their advertising

@k1assic says:

I love how people are saying Honda and Toyota CVTs were fine. Their CVTs were TRASH just like Nissan . The only difference is they were smart enough to abandon them instead of sink with the ship like Nissan. Incredibly stupid by Nissan.

Driven by friction

@LamarLenhardt says:

I’ve been saying it!

@anthonyalandoyle says:

What happens when you make peices to complicated shits unreal dude

@boklao9699 says:

That’s why toyota is better than nissan

@bige3201 says:

My Nissan altima has over 250,000 miles and still has the original cvt transmission

@bige3201 says:

The cvt transmission is nor made by Nissan. It's made by a company called Jatco. Those Jatco cvt transmissions are also in subarus and Mitsubishi but for some reason people only pick on Nissan. Lack of maintenance and Bad driving habits is the cause of those problems with the Jatco transmissions

@MrSamPhoenix says:

It’s crazy to me that Nissan couldn’t master this transmission design. Because Honda’s and Toyota’s CVTs are a joy to drive, and are super durable.

@glenbenton4855 says:

Yes and no. Knowing people drive like anmLz and dont service their vehicles, they probably ragged and overheated them without ever servicing them. Not to mention the average driver just mashes on the gas pedal no matter the situation and doesnt give the transmission enough to react at times. Idk, just my two dimes

@erwinsabilala6014 says:

Mitsubishi is using Same transmission as Nissan but they dont have issues since they have maintenance intervals on their own unlike nissan

@Splitthatpie says:

Nissan never made their own transmission

@jeffhall768 says:

CVTs are great. Just need to build them properly.

@DomVito87 says:

I have a kia soul…that has a cvt…. 200k same trans… Nothing but fluid changes.

@deven6518 says:

Toyota uses cvt as well. Cvt isn't the issue. It's bad management and poor build quality.the suspension is flimsy, the quarter panels are paper, the interior sounds like a speaker box, the trim is all thin plastic and the infotainment system hasn't changed in ages.
