How to DIY Hub assembly (wheel bearing) Replacement on 2014 Nissan Pathfinder R52

***as per Nissan FSM, it states 65ft/lbs for the 4 hub bolts not 44ft/lbs…. I’ve had them torqued on 44ft/lbs since this video & no issues… Will re-torque them again to be on the safe side***

Hey guys Here is a DIY, HOW-TO change your driver side front hub assembly in a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. (R52 chassis). It’s a pretty straight forward job I give it a 4-5 difficulty level out of 10 with the right tools. I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos of how to change hubs & actually have experience with front end work. **DISCLAIMER I’M IN NO WAY A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC OR ASE CERTIFIED, THIS IS A HOBBY TO ME, WORK AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU DECIDE TO FOLLOW MY FOOTSTEPS. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DAMAGES** (This is my 1st time doing a how to so if anything any feedback for better progress is greatly appreciated)
Tools Used:
3/8″ & 1/2″ Ratchets
Assortment of sockets & extensions 1/2 & 3/8s (10mm, 17mm, 22mm & 32mm)
3/8″ & 1/2″ Torque Wrenches
Slide Hammer
Rubber Mallets
Medium thread locker (Blue)
Anti-seize (silver Grade)
Jack & Jack Stands
Torch (maybe)
New Cotter Pin
New Axle Nut
New Hub Assembly (with or without ABS sensor, mine was fine & did not come with one)
Torque Specs: Hub bolts = 65 Ft/lbs (stated in page 8 of the 2014 pathfinder FSM in the front axle section)
Axle Nut = 85 ft/lbs
Torque Member = 91 ft/lbs (these specs were confirmed with a Nissan tech, check the FSM if you’re not sure)
After a 50 mile plus test drive with speeds ranging from 5-70mph, no noise, no vibrations & no more sloppy braking

Nice video. You make it look simple. I'm having a problem with the front end on my Maxima. How did you know you needed a hub assembly?

How sure are you about the 4 hub bolt torque settings? Cheers
