one of the best tutorials i ever watched.. Now i can do my Desert Runner
o2 sensors with no problem!! AGAIN,, THAnx !!!!

SteveXnycperformance says:

Are you trying to remove the catalytic O2 sensor? This might require the
removal of the catalytic.

stephen serquina says:

Hello Sir,where can I buy that special socket you are using?I tried to
remove(DIY)the o2 sensor but it is no way using deep socket.good to say
that I came over to watch this video and had found that socket you have
used.Thanks!

sazlsazl says:

thanks man god bless you for teach us.

Jeffrey Potter says:

Nice video sir

SteveXnycperformance says:

what is the mileage of the 01 SE? . Most O2 sensor are the same for the
Nissan frontiers model. The tool can nbe rented at you local autozone or
pepeboys. The cat O2 is not necessary for replacement. The O2 in the engine
exhaust manifold are the ones that monitor fuel burn rate.

Thank you for posting this. You saved me $100!

Mark1944089 says:

I’m great with my hands.

John Smith says:

thanks for all the add in’s. they were helpful knowing where everything
else was situated and what they are. Im just trying to learn more about my
car and all the engine components and no one has one video that maps out an
engine. This was closer to that though! thanks

itsaspermsworld says:

this was a great video and the timing of this video is perfect. i just
ordered 2 new primary O2 sensors for my 2003 nissan maxima, yeah the engine
is different but this video showed me exactly what i need to do, what to
watch for and what to expect. which will be helpful because i’ve never done
this before! thanks for the video and i may hit you up with some questions
too.

atardy12 says:

Hi Steve great video. I have a ’01 Frontier SE O2 Sensors look similar to
your video. I bought this truck used a few years back I don’t know if the
Sensors have ever been changed. I can see the blue one has been tampered
with as it is not secured. Haynes manual says to change the pre and post O2
sensors. Would these under the hood be same as the pre I also found the 2
sensors near the catalytic converter. How much does the special tool run.
Thank you.

Earthcream says:

very well done and really good camera work and quality….good narration
too. Unfortunately looks like i’m going to need someone with experience to
give me a hand with this.

Alberto Leon says:

Thanks for the info, your video is very helpful and informative.

jacotherottie says:

Steve – this video comes with great timing for me! You made it so much
easier to prep to replace these two sensors.

MrRicody says:

Nicojones, great name! Crispin Gatiesa here in USA!!

SteveXnycperformance says:

Catalytic Converter Code (P0420 – TW Catalyst SYS-B1). try replacing the
two catalyst convertor oxygen sensor.if the code persist you will need to
replace the catalyst convertors.

RoxieTube says:

Thanks Steve, I see you have nyc in your ID… do you work in the city? I
have a 2001 Nissan Frontier with the DTC P0135 and P0325. I’m up for
inspection but don’t want to get hit with a $1000 bill. How hard is it to
replace the knock sensor?

giovanny garcia says:

Hi Steve I have a question for you, I need your help, I have a 2002 Nissan
Frontier I put gasoline and the car began to fail and now smells of
gasoline burned, I try to turn on and off, with your experience you think
you have to change a sensor, the car started shaking a lot and then go off,
give me some advice to see what I do, my email is giovannyga@hotmail.com
thanks and god bless, giovanny

Nico Jones says:

Steve, thank you for sharing your knowledge, especially of the 3800 series
II engine which I have. At 114,000 miles I have to be gentle and take good
care it. Your videos are super informative, and help tremendously. Keep
them coming.

FFJNVT says:

Steve for president!! Another awesome video. Keep up the great work. You’ve
helped so much and saved me thousands of dollars on supercharger repairs
and DIY jobs. Cheers

Bflo23 says:

Great video. This is the exact video that I was looking for. I don’t own a
frontier but I have a 2000 xterra and the engine looks pretty much exactly
like yours. Pretty much the same exact parts. I think my primary oxygen
sensor went bad as it was smoking. I am going to buy that oxygen sensor
wrench and a new oxygen sensor and hopefully that would fix my car. Thanks!

Tony Huemer says:

Steve. I have an ’03 s/c Xterra and I was wondering what would I do with
the oxygen sensors if I removed the cats? Would I still leave them in place
or would I have to completely take them out? I just put on a cat back
exhaust system and will soon replace the intake, spark plugs, oxygen
sensors and s/c pulley. 135,000 miles. Any other suggestions as well for
added performance? (I live in Wyoming, it’s legal to take off your cats.)

jasmeonce says:

great DIY! Thanks! big help!

SteveXnycperformance says:

have you tried a Tune-up? does the instrument cluster display “engine
light”?

SteveXnycperformance says:

s/c non s/c cat are the same. on-off road application.running a hi-flow-cat
might required tuning the ecm to meet epa enviro standard so you can pass a
state inspection.the vehicle must not display a “check engine” light during
operation with a hi-flow cat,but must illumine when the ign key is
turned-on.any force induction engine will perform best with the lowest
tailpipe(@ the end of the pipe restriction.

SteveXnycperformance says:

@thecheesburgler 🙂

SteveXnycperformance says:

Any Auto Part store should be able to provide you with a O2 socket. The O2
socket in the video is manufacture by OEM part# 25249. It is of a 7/8 or
22mm size. Thank you.

unseenowsgc says:

which sensor should be replaced if I have an error code of p0420?
