After 1999 the 2.0 was not offered. This video is very similar to the 2.4, however, it covers everything on the 1999 Eclipse 2.0 timing belt replacement. The video was a little long so that I could cover everything. So I put it into a part 1 and part 2. Part 2 is much shorter. See also my other videos on this Eclipse. Replacing the thermostat, tie rod, radiator cap, etc. Please click on my name under the video for all my how-to videos. Please subscribe and click like. I got the videos out of order, I’m sorry please keep watching it does cover everything. Thanks for watching,,,,,Enjoy!!!

jorge vasquez says:

GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! very good explanation thank you

Joel Sanchez says:

questions did you have to remove the front motor mount? because there's alot of people having trouble taking one of the bolts from the passenger side motor mount.

hafast motorsports says:

Helpful vid thanks!

MultiBeast301 says:

This dude is a boss. Best video not only for an eclipse but to learn general mechanics

Brad Savage says:

Timing belt cover bolts wouldn’t come out. Even raising or lowering motor as much as could. Drilled two holes 5/8” with step down bit inside fender inline with bolts and wahlah. Great video. Short n sweet. Took me 12 hours under a shade tree.

David D. says:

Quick question…do you believe a novice could pull this off on his own?

TheKID CHG says:

Bro if u have any info on the camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor it would be really appreciated!!!

Brian R says:

If the timing belt snaps on this is it over

Cristian Alvarado says:

Ke no sabes español we

kris lane says:

How did you remove the power steering pump bracket and engine mount? I can’t get to those 14mm, the area is stupid tight.. I also had to pull the alternator belt along with the crank pully, couldn’t get the alternator to move or wiggle enough to reduce enough tension

wook shit says:

There are no threads in my crankshaft hole should i tap it out?

Collyn Lucas says:

Great teacher sir!

mark simmons says:

:44 take the tentioner loose take the belt off then power steering pump off

Truenopandaa says:

You shloudve shown how to take of pulleys and belt ????

KAYNOTTI BEATS says:

So if I needed to take the timing cover off, I would have to take the engine out??

javier escontrias says:

Horrible video. Confusing over simplification, too much information unrelated to the job and no actual repair manual specs. Sounds just like one of those bs mechanics that tell you a bunch of shit to scare you. "I wasn't gonna show you how to put it in timing but I'm glad i did because i found this" yeah…. Extremely bad video.

Kabookie Joe says:

Hey this is a great video my only question is, how did you get the back part of the cover off to get to the water pump? I've got the belt off and everything else but I'm wondering how to get that cover forward enough to get to the bolts on the water pump, any help is really appreciated!

Broke Boi says:

you should make a video that locates the range sensor…. or in other words neutral saftey switch

Hugo Arzate says:

when you are turning to line up the bottom mark are you turning it clockwise or counter clock wise?

Underground Drifting says:

It's a little late but I see u still post vid. And I had a question on how to set the timing not on the bottom like what u did during this vid. But the top two that u said were already set, do I just spin them till there lined up or..? It would help me out Alot if I knew

Uriel Cabrales says:

Thanks for the video very helpful. I have a 1997 mitubishi eclipse with same engine as in clip. After seeing this video it has inspired me to do it myself.

Jay Brennan says:

Is it possible to do this without an engine hoist and removing the motor mount? Im trying not to break the bank to fix my belt problem. The belt popped.

J. B.J. says:

Fantastic, fantastic video!! I just got a 1996 Eclipse that the owners just beat the hell out of, this is where I'm starting, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, then I'm going to the ignition, and get that bad boy running! Thank you for these videos!

David Flores says:

Do you absolutely NEED a compressor and impact to get some of those parts out ? 🙁 my 96 eclipse is stressing me out so badly man

Zackery Schuler says:

I'm having trouble getting my bolts out for the timing cover! They won't line up with that hole in the wheel well and the engine won't go up or down enough to clear the walls! My next step is to pull the damn thing

Danielle Myers says:

How do I move the cams in the timing I’m trying to time my neck to 97 nonturbo eagle talon 420a engine

Cody Hunt says:

You explain things the way my brain understands them haha. Good video man.
