PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Do more repair videos on the 3000GT VR-4/Dodge Stealth. This video is great. These cars are very unreliable and repair videos are needed. The more videos on this car the better. Thanks.

LS1 Power says:

This is great.

Jack Black says:

Is this ticking merely cosmetic or is there an emission issue? Specifically, is a car with an engine tick more likely to fail the regular vehicle check?
I bought a Pajero iO 1.8 at auction two years ago, deregistered with no Shaken which just got by exhaust emission check on it thied attempt; high hydro-carbon was the actual problem. Now scrapping seems the obvious decision as it only cost me $800. Really unfortunate as it is such a good vehicle to cope with up-hill deep snow.
It would be useful to know if this problem could be fixed by removing the rockers and by changing the lifters to the 3.0 mm type.

Draxindustries1 says:

No need to dismantle or replace anything at all. Remove the plugs, drain the oil and replace the filter. Fill the engine with 15litres of brake and clutch cleaner and leave overnight for it to dissolve sludge. Spin the engine over on the starter until the oil pressure guage registers. Repeat around a dozen times then drain out the brake cleaner and replace the filter again.
The ticking noise will be gone.
Run the engine for 20 miles or so and replace the oil & filter again, job done..

Edd²+Ant = Wheeler Dealer unlimited, Bigger and Better . All of us want to see two greats build cars and sell them.. maybe y'all can add Mike as the guy who gets the donor car and parts and the guy sells it….but Edd and Ant run the show

Elit3 says:

FYI lifter tick in these can be fixed by taking the lifters out and cleaning them, as long as you make sure to run clean oil the problem wont come back. Saves buying a new set which aren't in infinite supply.

Craig says:

I worked at a Mitsu dealer for six years. Every spring when people would pull their 3000s out of the garage after sitting for six months they would come to the dealer with a tick in the engine. A distributor for BG Products came in and showed us an oil additive called MOA. We would change the oil and filter and add the additive to the oil and drive it for a few miles. The tick was gone. Customers would come in and buy it . The lifter is so tinny I think it would bleed out all the oil and get air bound. After 25 years I still use the additive in all my cars.

Nice Vixen 915 Aquablast you've got there

Philip Walton says:

A lubbed up lifter always slides in nicely

Barry Davies says:

Dont worry Ant …. Priestly will farm this sort of work out so saving a costly bodge by him by putting thicker oil in to fix the "ticking"
