DIY: (2004 – 2012) 2005 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L, How to Replace Starter (No Music)

DIY/HowTo video on for a starter replacement on a (2004 – 2012) 2005 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L 4 cylinder engine. I have made this video for the DIY person who needs to know what items on the car needs to be removed. Thus saving you time to do other things.

Jonathan Miller says:

you do not have to remove the manifold.

Ardent Fan says:

It looks like removing the exhaust manifold makes the job so much smoother although it involves more work. Thanks for sharing.

Daniel Rhoton says:

How long did the whole process take?

Jim Hamilton says:

I am glad i found this video. I just went though the upstream cat converter/header replacement so this should go pretty easy now that I've already done that. I will have to do it again! My starter just started working intermittently which is annoying. Was thinking it was the park/neutral switch but doesn't seem to be now. Its weird that some of the bolt placements on the heat shield and lower O/2 sensors on your car are a little different than on my car. Not an issue but just weird to see some differences. Turns out your car is a Mivec motor where mine isn't.

very helpful and clear, thanks

Thanks for posting this video. I have to replace the starter on a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and can not find a video specifically for that. I hope this will be almost identical.

Replacing the starter is one of hardest works of Galant car service. Tks for sharing useful video. Could you tell me more about signs of bad starter it is going to fail?
