DIY 2001 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.4L STARTER REPLACEMENT

All the information I found on the net indicated the exhaust manifold had to be removed. I found that it is not necessary.

I could hear the starter clicking. took the heat shields off and hit the starter a couple of times with a heavy wrench and the car started, drove it home and replaced the starter. I’m no mechanic, but if your not getting anything, I would start by checking the battery first and go from there. (battery terminal connections, alternator, fuses, relays)

how did u know the starter was bad? I have the same exact car and I was told I will need a new starter. I turn the key and I cant even get a click sound. nothing!!

The muffler was already installed when I bought the jeep. I thought it was a flowmaster but when I looked at it from the bottom it has V-FORCE stamped on it
