Mercury Outboard Maintenance | 2 stroke 15hp | Water Pump Impeller Kit | Wandering Wassoms – S2.E11

Hello, and CONGRATS on finding this video! We hope that you find it as useful as we have intended it to be and that it answers nearly all your questions on how to perform BASIC MAINTENANCE on a MERCURY or other OUTBOARD motor, as well as the techniques you should use to WINTERIZE your outboard before STORAGE season (the saddest season of all).

There are a lot of great Youtube videos out there on how to maintain, winterize, and store your mercury outboard motor, however, I could not find one that had absolutely EVERYTHING I needed with in-depth details. So… I decided to make one! Here it is!

I made the type of video that I had spent hours looking for!

If this video helps you out, please show your support by SUBSCRIBING to our channel, LIKING the video, or leaving a COMMENT! We greatly appreciate all of that!

Make sure to check out these PARTS & SUPPLIES below, which are the ones I ordered (mostly from Amazon.com) with their part numbers & prices at the time of purchase.

Lastly – CHECK OUT THE CHAPTERS that I’ve created. If all you need is to change out the Impeller – or just how to do the Spark Plugs – The chapters will let you skip straight there! I hope you find that handy.

Again – Thanks for Watching!!

How did that Amazon water pump impeller hold up? just curious because I’m seeing a lot of reviews that say they often fail prematurely.

Hey buddy. I have 99 15 hp mariner. It burps when manually pushing throttle on the carb. But when manually pushing the lever with the idle wire. It runs awesome. Any ideas

@gregkobylarz8648 says:

A veteran Mercury outboard mechanic told me this- When you seat the new impeller into the cup, add a little grease into the cup and the impeller fins will find the correct direction upon start up.
