Learn how to replace the spark plugs on your Mercury 115 outboard in this video from Boats.net. This is an easy job and when you remove the plugs, you can gain a little insight into how your motor is running. You should change or inspect the spark plugs in a Mercury outboard every 100 hours. If the tips are black, the engine is running rich, and if they’re white, the engine isn’t getting enough fuel and is running lean.

In the video, we’ll show you how to remove the spark plug cover and change the spark plugs on your outboard engine. It simplifies the job to replace them one at a time so you do not cross up the spark plug wires. When you replace the spark plugs on your Mercury 115 outboard, torque them to 18 foot-pounds.
