Thanks man, just did this to my 2011 with straight pipes and a full AC delete. I gotta say, with a full pcm relearn this thing kicks. Cut the fender guards right before the wheels so it's not a hot air intake and so the wheels aren't throwing rocks and such into the engine bay and my god, this is definitely one of the best mods along with a full AC delete. The sound it makes at 5800 rpms is absolutely hilariously over the top. Tempted to have a shop retune the entire pcm to accommodate the higher air flow through the plenum and manifold to really make this thing haul ass. Keep up the good work bud. Edit: If anyone gets the wrench follow this: https://youtu.be/hZAsoqmqhdM. It throws a code for incorrect throttle position or incorrect flow whenever you disconnect the MAF or throttle body position sensor. Make sure you do this as to avoid this.

while it sounds better hot air is not better for hp

Do you have a link for it

Doubletap10MM says:

I was wondering if you are worried about the filter sucking hot engine air now that it doesn't have the box to act as a barrier. Seems to me like that would defeat the purpose and all you did was make a hot air intake that looks cool. Let me know ifi m wrong because I would like to do this if it works.

Just found your channel! I’m really glad I did! I just got my 99 grand marquis GS with 37000 original miles! I only paid $1000!!! Yeah!!! What a score! It was my gf’s late grandma’s. She kept it in the garage too! I’m so grateful to own this car. Named mine grandma as well before even finding your channel to! I’ll def be following this build with mine in mind. Thanks! Oh, also I plan to watch all the vids you have out already. That being said, I just seen the cat video you made where you hollowed them out. One question,
Would that be a bad idea for me to do since I have to do an emissions test yearly?

James Nasto says:

Nice work on the air filter. The car is getting there.

Panzer Platform says:

I like the idea of hearing more engine noise upon acceleration?
I change my stock air filter once, a year or every 15K Miles.
How often do you have to replace the Specter Filter used in the video?

I'm using the spectre filtler in the stock air box on the C-4 Corvette been pretty happy with it. Great video

Impact's Garage and Gaming says:

Good choice I like Spectre filters, I just put a Spectre air filter in the stock air cleaner assembly on my $600 Trans Am project. I wanted to get a better flowing filter without ditching the stock hood scoop and a Spectre that fit cost considerably less than a K&N but does the exact same thing. Spectre, K&N, AEM it doesn't matter who makes the filter as long as it's made of cotton. Cotton flows/breathes so much better than a paper filter and that's why it makes more power. A friend of mine and my dads that used to race the six cylinder class at circle tracks around here said a cotton K&N filter made a whopping 7 more HP for his race car on the dyno. It was the same size filter too so the gain was purely from the filter element material.

Str8sixfan says:

I wouldn't be afraid to keep the lower portion of the intake box, it's still a portion of colder air than the rest of the engine bay…but moreso to help confine the area that the cone filter can bounce around in more than the rest of that. But it does sound good!

America: Bumper to Bumper says:

Sounding good

Zohaib Anwar says:

I am really following this build with all my heart and soul because I love these cars. I was so happy to see that high flow filter in her but was a bit disappointed with the 0 to 60 timing. My 03 grandma is stock with stock filter and goes to 0 to 60 in around 8 seconds without ac. I guess it's because I replaced ignition coils on mine with high performance heavy duty ones.

Woo hoo thanks for the shout out! Nice video!
