How to Diagnose Issues in HP Laptop (Using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI – F2 Method)

Step-by-Step

1- Restart Your Laptop
Save all work and restart your HP laptop.

2-Press F2 at Startup
As soon as the HP logo appears, repeatedly press F2.
This opens the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) screen.

3-Select Component Tests
Use arrow keys or mouse to open Component Tests.

4-Run Tests the all components One by One
Battery Test
Memory (RAM) Test
Hard Drive / SSD Test
Keyboard Test
Fan Test
Wireless / Network Test
(Run all or only the ones related to your issue.)

5-View Results
After each test, check if it shows Pass or Fail.
Note down the Failure ID if any test fails.
6-Take Action
If any component fails → contact HP Support and provide the Failure ID.
If all pass → your hardware is fine (issue may be with software or drivers).
