What to do when the job needs to get done and you don’t have the tool? Fabricate one from scrap metal and hardware store items. We needed to change out the upper control arms which meant the springs had to have the tension taken off the arms. Conventional spring compressors won’t work in these Ford vehicles and the factory tool is no longer available.
