Thank you so much for sharing this video! …I am not at all a
mechanically-inclined type of a guy. Having said that, it is not cheap to
bring it to any shop to get it done. Therefore, I truly appreciate this
video of yours!
I bought my ’03 ML350 brand new, and I’ve never pedalled-to-the-metal from
stop-and-go…I do take very good care of the vehicle. However, it’s been
almost 14 yrs since I got it. The car runs absolutely fine — with, of
course, minor wear-&-tears. No funny noises, no unusual loss of power.
The only thing I noticed is, stepping on the gas pedal seems to be stiffer;
requiring a little more force — in comparison to my girlfriend’s ’11 Lexus
RX350…hers is effortless. It’s been too long — I certainly don’t
remember what it felt like stepping on that pedal when I first got the car
new. Perhaps, it’s a whole different subject. My point being that the car
never felt “weird”. So, I never got around replacing the serpentine belt.
Which leads me to this question: How do I know it’s time to replace one?
Also, what is the reason for replacing the idler pulley? Again, thank you!
